Agriculture is a vital element in the economic life of Okfuskee County. There are 755 farm/ranch units, 43,000 cattle and calves and 29,500 beef cows in the county. The average size of a farm is 361 acres, while the value of agriculture products sold is $10,271,000 and the average per farm is $13,786.
Cash receipts from marketing are $11,908,000 and 83.6% of this is cash receipts from livestock and products. Production expenses are $13,551,000, and total farm labor and proprietor's income is $843,000.
The county produces 2,500 acres of alfalfa, 32,500 acres of hay, 1,000 acres of oats and 2,170 acres of peanuts in addition to sorghum, soybeans and wheat. Sheep, lambs, hogs and chickens are also raised.
